Real Estate Commission

The real estate commission is a regulatory body charged with administering the real estate licensing act, the timeshare act, the condominium act, and the subdivision act. The mission of the real estate commission is to protect the interest of the public when engaged in a real estate transaction. It is the commission's responsibility to enforce standards for education, licensing, and practice of real estate brokers, salespersons, auctioneers, property managers, residential rental agents, timeshare agents and home inspectors, and for registration of condominium, timeshare, and subdivision projects.

The Real Estate Commission is a regulatory agency within the Office of Licensing & Registration, Department of Professional & Financial Regulation. This site contains information about the licensing of individuals to sell or offer to sell real estate on behalf of another. Included are the requirements for each license type, information about renewal procedure, downloadable applications and forms as well as information about prelicense courses to qualify for a license and continuing education courses required to maintain an existing license. Also included is access to the Department's disciplinary data bank that lists licensees who have been disciplined by the Real Estate Commission and other agencies under the purvue of the Office of Licensing & Registration
